Park Gilo Heaven For Kids

In Park Gilo, a shady forest alongside the residential neighborhood of the same name in southern Jerusalem, Jerusalemites nearly yearround will pack up the kids, break out the portable barbecue grills and take the opportunity to spend the day outdoors.

The smells of grilling chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs and the sounds of conversations and children shouting in Hebrew, English, Yiddish, Arabic and French indicate just how widely used the park is by Jerusalemites of all types.

Shady wonderland

Park Gilo is one of Jerusalem`s lesser known attractions, mostly due to it`s location off the beaten track, away from the city center. There are separate playgrounds for babies/toddlers and older kids, a smooth rollerblade track and a wire climbing structure unlike anything I`ve seen anyplace else.

There`s also a tennis and basketball court, and a stunning walking track overlooking the Malcha neighborhood and the Gilo forest. To the west, the panoramic view of the Jerusalem hills overlooks the Refaim Valley and the Jerusalem-Bet Shemesh train line.

“I can`t say we come here all the time,” said Malkiel, a transplanted New Yorker who has lived in the German Colony neighborhood for nearly a decade, “but we come a lot. Especially in summer, it`s one of the shadiest spots around, and my three kids spend hours climbing, jumping, swinging and just having a good time.

Speaking during an easy game of catch with nine-year-old son Aviad, Malkiel said the park is often a destination for family cookouts, picnics or hikes, and said the extended family was only too happy to set out for the park when the early morning fog burned off Wednesday morning. Aviad was too busy playing football to speak to Go Jerusalem.

My five-year-old son, Idan, a native of Jerusalem, gave a slightly more energetic description of the afternoon`s activities: “I went on the big slide and climbed up again and saw you standing down there kicking the football with Gilad (his older brother). Then I ran around and around and around and wanted to play with the other kids. Can I have a drink, please?”

That about sums it up.

The Affect Of Horror Movies On Childrens Psychology

The research which is made in relation to this issue shows that children (especially children age 5 and younger and toddlers) including and older children even teens and pre teens face to the same consequences. In the most cases watching a scary movie can produce a serious case of anxiety. The usual symptoms are aggressiveness, sleeping disorder and self-endangerment. But the most often symptom that appears while watching horror movies is shaking or trembling, sweating, crying or screaming, fever, chills and loss of appetite, upset stomach, clinging to a companion, fear of dying, dizziness or faintness, increased heart rate, feeling of unreality, shortness of breath and etc

Among many children, appears the avoidance of real life situations that has been shown before in a fictional way on screen. They feel threatened facing those situations, situations that caused the original fear and they simply tend to avoid them as much as they can.

The appearance of obsession is also common. The subject after viewing the horror movie obsessively talks about the stimulus that produces fear, thinking that if heshe talks about the situations that make himher fear heshe will release himselfherself and alienate from what heshe has seen.

Nightmares, we all have them after watching something that has scared us to death. Someone has them just one night and the others for longer. No matter how long they last, nightmares put us on a situation to feel again the same fear that we have felt before.

Many adults have learned from their experience to recognize the stimulus that scare them, and they avoid movies and TV shows that content them. Otherwise children still dont know what their fear is or how it appears, thats why we have to be very careful about what we are watching on our screens when they are next to us.

But its a fact that everyone loves a good scare now and then, we all want to test our rate of fear. Thats why horror video games became so popular and they are becoming more and more realistic. Our tip to you is enjoy and work out all you fears but be sure that your children are peacefully sleeping in their worm beds.

But horror movies are not the only ones that you must protect your children from, scary games are also something that may cause them the same effects as a full length horror movie. The scariest part is that these games can be found everywhere on the net. There is no need to say that these games contain a huge amount of gore and bloodbath, especially the torture games, the zombie games can give them all kinds of nightmares.

We all know that its not good when our children are overprotected, but still a little control now and then doesnt hurt anyone.

Value Of Education India & Reputation Of Online Education In India

Education was always given huge importance in India. There was a time when children had to go away from their homes and learn about everything which included learning about what was essential along with ways for survival and community service as well. There was no discrimination among the children. However, today education India is a different picture. The system has changed and though some aspects are new and better, some can be considered as the drawbacks of modern knowledge.

Development of education in India can be evaluated by taking into account the steps taken by the government for free and compulsory education. Another side of the coin is that people are also becoming aware of the value of education. Some take it as by acquiring education they will be able to get better job opportunities and hence improve their life and lifestyle. Once they have been able to attain higher educational degrees, they can give better future to their children.

The education system in India was always strong and this is the reason why there is a large percentage of Indian scientists in the worlds picture. The only thing lacking is the opportunities and a bright future. However, this is also taken care of these days and steps are taken so that the excellent students in India get opportunities here and they have a bright future staying and working for the future of their country. The best example is the acceptance and reputation of online education in India.

Though it is still not a part and parcel of the entire education system, online education is gaining popularity in India at a substantial rate. Online education is a system in which people living in remote areas or those who do not have time and money to attend regular classes can take the advantage and earn higher degrees.

Still there are many areas in India where higher education is very difficult to achieve. Even if there is caliber and capability in students, they are unable to accomplish their academic dreams. Here online education and its awareness will help people attain the degree they want to earn.

Protect Your Child’s Future With Mutual Funds

You might not be able to imagine you could afford your child’s dreams and wishes for the future right now. But that could change if you use the right tactics. There is a way that can help you to prepare for the your child’s future – mutual funds. There are many funds that can help you invest in specific plans that augment your child’s future. The plans tend to vary based on the age of the child you’re investing for. If you’re investing for an infant or a child of up to 5 years – investments are likely to be equity based. Generally, the investment period could be up to around 15 years from when you start investing your money. This is the best time for you to start investing. It gives you more time with which you can build up your assets. You end up with more time in which you can keep investing money into the mutual fund.

Once your child is around 6 or 7, start considering a balanced fund. Even if you’re leaning a bit towards equities, that’s alright. But by this time, you shouldn’t rely only on equities. This is because you’ll have less time with to invest. Relying on equities means exposing your capital to volatility. At this point, the fund you choose needs to be balanced with a great deal of safety too. The investment period should range up to about 12 years. It gives you comparatively less time – for both investing and for you money to grow. Once the child reaches teens, don’t take any risks with your capital at all. Get a children plan with emphasis on debt funds rather than equity. You will have an investment period of around 5 years at the most, so don’t take risks with your money. Let it grow slowly but safely with debt funds.

Why debt funds? The investment period is too small for you to take risks with your money. You’ll need your money back in five years. Equity is simply too dangerous when you would need the money back in such a short while. Investing in debt funds helps to gain at least some level of interest on your money. You should have a good option for liquidity when you’re investing, though. Whatever plan you want to choose, ensure you have a fair idea of what you want when the investment comes to an end. You don’t want to fall short of the money you need. If you need more money, start investing earlier. Your money will have enough time to grow that way.
